Family Beach Photography | Malibu, CA
This Post Contains Affiliate LinksSummer in Malibu is a whirlwind of bustling beach goers trying to escape the heat. One thing that might surprise many visitors, is that it gets really cold and windy at the beaches during sunset. The heat from the land pulls the cool ocean air onshore and creates strong gusts. Leo Carrillo State Beach, where this session was held, offers a bit of protection from the strong winds thanks to its sandy coves.
Due to the strong, cold wind, we had to have a super short session. I brought a blanket, a basket, and some shells for their little girl to play with. Having them sit on the blanket sheltered them even more from the wind.
There were several other beach goers, but Leo Carrillo is such an expansive State Beach, with lots to do, see, and explore, that I didn’t worry about other people getting in our shot. This is why Leo Carrillo is my favorite summer beach location.
